Realme GT 8 and Realme GT 8 Pro Launched

Realme GT 8 Pro was introduced in China on Tuesday, along with the Realme GT 8, during a launch event organized by the Chinese smartphone producer. The Realme GT 8 Pro runs on Qualcomm’s top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and comes with an R1 X graphics chip. It has a large 7,000mAh battery. The smartphone features a 2K resolution screen that can refresh at rates up to 144Hz. It has IP69+IP68+IP66 ratings, meaning it's resistant to both dust and water. Both models have an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for security. The starting price for the Realme GT 8 Pro is CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs. 50,000) for the basic version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The other options, which include a 16GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage, are priced at CNY 4,299 (around Rs. 53,000), CNY 4,499 (close to Rs. 56,000), and CNY 4,699 (about Rs. 58,000), respectively. The highest configuration includes 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, costing CNY 5,199 (around Rs. 64,000).

As for the standard version, the base model of the Realme GT 8, which has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, is priced at CNY 2,899 (approximately Rs. 36,000). The more advanced versions with 16GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB RAM + 512GB storage, 16GB RAM + 512GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage are priced at CNY 3,199 (about Rs. 40,000), CNY 3,399 (approximately Rs. 42,000), CNY 3,599 (close to Rs. 45,000), and CNY 4,099 (around Rs. 51,000), respectively. Both phones can be purchased in China through the company's online shop. The Realme GT 8 Pro and Realme GT 8 come in Blue, White, and Green colors. The Realme GT 8 Pro is a dual-SIM device that uses Realme UI 7.0. It has a 6.79-inch QHD+ (1,440x3,136 pixels) AMOLED flexible display with a peak brightness of 7,000 nits, refresh rate of up to 144Hz, 1.07 billion colors, a pixel density of 508 ppi, and a touch sampling rate of 3,200Hz. It also covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and 100 percent of sRGB. Both the standard and Pro models have the same screens with identical specifications.

The latest smartphones, the Realme GT 8 Pro and GT 8, are equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite processors, respectively. They can come with as much as 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and can hold up to 1TB of internal space. However, the Pro version has a UFS 4.1 storage option, while the regular version has UFS 4.0 storage. Both phones feature 7,000mAh batteries. The Pro and regular models also allow for rapid charging, with speeds of 120W and 100W through wired connections. For photography, the Realme GT 8 series has three rear cameras. The Pro model includes a 50-megapixel (f/1.8) Ricoh GR main camera, featuring a 22mm focal length and two-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel (f/2.0) ultrawide camera, and a 200-megapixel (f/2.6) telephoto camera that can zoom digitally up to 120 times. For selfies, it has a 32-megapixel (f/2.4) front camera.

In comparison, the Realme GT 8 has a similar 50-megapixel main camera at a 24mm focal length. However, it comes with an 8-megapixel (f/2.2) ultrawide camera and a 50-megapixel (f/2.8) telephoto camera. There’s also a 16-megapixel (f/2.4) camera for selfies. Both devices can capture video in 8K resolution at 30 frames per second. The Realme GT 8 series includes an in-display fingerprint scanner and facial recognition for added security. The phones come with a variety of sensors, such as a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, color temperature sensor, electronic compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, and hall sensor. They also support Bluetooth 6, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC for connecting to other devices. The dimensions of the Realme GT 8 Pro are approximately 161.80 x 76.87 x 8.30mm, and it weighs around 218 grams.
