
A North Carolina with the help of two civilians pulled out a man from a burning car right before it exploded.
The incident occurred on Friday and Nash County Detective Mariel Moore was the first person present at the scene, according to the Nash County Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle went off the road, hitting a tree with the victim being trapped inside with a broken leg, according to the sheriff’s office.
Detective Moore with the help of two civilians, pulled the victim from the vehicle and took him to a safe point, the sheriff’s office said on Facebook. The vehicle exploded just after the victim was pulled out.
The department said that they believe the actions of Detective Moore and the two civilians saved the life of the driver.

“On Friday, NCSO units responded along with Fire and EMS units to the scene of a vehicle wreck in the 1200 block of Taylor Store Road.
The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree and burst into flames.
Detective Mariel Moore was one of the first people on the scene. The victim was trapped in the vehicle with a broken leg. Detective Moore, along with two civilians, pulled the victim from the vehicle and got him to safety. Just after pulling the victim from the vehicle, the vehicle exploded. We believe that the actions of Detective Moore and the two civilians saved the life of this person. We would like to give them all a congratulatory hand clap.
Detective Moore showed that she is a great example of the Deputies of the NCSO, who continually show Honor, Compassion, and Diligence in service to the citizens of Nash County.
