After the critical summit in Alaska, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy mentioned that he had a “long and in-depth chat" with US President Donald Trump and endorsed the idea of a three-way meeting involving Ukraine, the USA, and Russia. Zelenskyy explained that the talk started as a private discussion before European leaders were brought in. He indicated that the conversation lasted over 90 minutes, with around an hour focused only on talks with Trump. “We back President Trump’s idea for a three-nation meeting with Ukraine, the USA, and Russia. Ukraine believes that important matters can be talked about among leaders, and a three-way setup is suitable for this,” Zelenskyy stated in an official message shared on X. He mentioned that Ukraine is dedicated to working hard to attain peace and pointed out that Trump updated him about his conversation with Putin and the main topics that were addressed.

He also pointed out that “America’s power” has a significant impact on the situation. Zelenskyy shared his plan to visit the US on the upcoming Monday, stating that he will meet with President Trump in Washington, DC, “to go over all the details regarding stopping the violence and the conflict.” He added, “I appreciate the invitation.” “It is crucial for Europeans to be involved at every level to provide solid security assurances alongside America. We also talked about encouraging signs from the US side concerning support for Ukraine’s security. We continue to align our perspectives with all partners. I thank everyone who is assisting.”
