The Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton delighted hundreds of supporters in North Carolina, a day after the first presidential debate with Republican Donald Trump.
Mrs. Clinton spoke at a Democratic Party event at Wake Technical Community College about her economic proposals that she says will help families.
Deborah Ross, running for U.S. Senate, said that, "Hillary rocked the house last night in New York. Let's show them that we can rock NC like she rocked New York last night. Let's turn North Carolina blue."
"I have seen firsthand what she has done throughout her distinguished career. Hillary Clinton was working at this and becoming a leader when folks didn't think women should do it or could do it. Hillary is a fighter. And she won another one last night. And we need North Carolina needs her as our champion in building our economy," Former Gov. Jim Hunt said.
Deborah Ross, running for U.S. Senate against incumbent Richard Burr, lit up the crowd with promises of change and State Sen. Dan Blue fired them up, saying "Hillary rocked the house last night in New York. Let's show them that we can rock NC like she rocked New York last night. Let's turn North Carolina blue."
She started out firing the crowd up off the bat by asking, "Did anyone see that debate last night?" "I have this old fashioned idea that if I'm asking for your vote I should tell you what I want to do," she said.
"We overlook the importance of how we treat each other," she said. "The respect we show. The kindness. The love. I think we've got to reassert our fundamental connection to each other."
