The first lady Michelle Obama will be campaigning for the Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in North Carolina on Tuesday, with appearances in Charlotte and Raleigh. The details of the campaign have not yet been announced.
According to the Gallup, the first lady, who will urge North Carolina residents to register to vote and cast a ballot, is highly popular. Citizens viewed her more favorably than any of the other speakers at the Democratic National Convention in July, with 58 percent having a favorable view of her.
In the last week, she campaigned for Clinton at La Salle University in Philadelphia, where she criticized Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump without mentioning his name. She’s expected to campaign for Clinton across the country over the next five and a half weeks.
President Obama said that, “If a candidate is erratic and threatening, if a candidate traffics in prejudice, fear and lies on the campaign trails, that is the kind of president they will be.”
Earlier, Clinton delighted hundreds of supporters in North Carolina, a day after the first presidential debate with Republican Donald Trump. She spoke at a Democratic Party event at Wake Technical Community College about her economic proposals that she says will help families.
