Tecno has announced a new product in India named Tecno Pova Slim 5G, which they claim will be the "World’s Slimmest 3D Curved Display 5G Smartphone." This phone will be launched in India on September 4 at 12 PM, just before Apple reveals its own thin phone, the iPhone 17 Air. Earlier this year at MWC in Barcelona, Tecno displayed a concept phone called Tecno Spark Slim, measuring only 5.75mm thick. The design of the new Pova Slim appears quite similar to this concept, suggesting that the company is bringing that device to the Indian market.
If this is accurate, the Pova Slim may have a thickness of just 5.75mm, potentially making it slimmer than the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, the iPhone 17 Air may surpass it shortly after with an estimated thickness of around 5.5mm. The Tecno Pova Slim 5G is expected to have a 6.78 inch OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. Despite its sleek design, the phone is likely to include a 5,200mAh battery. It is expected to have a 50MP main camera, but details about the other camera sensors are currently limited. In the teaser image released by Tecno, the phone shows a curved white frame and a horizontal bar that forms the camera area. The phone visibly features a dual camera system with an LED flash and an LED light that Tecno refers to as the "Dynamic Mood Light." This LED light activates for phone calls, notifications, and similar activities.
The phone is anticipated to operate on Tecno's HiOS 15, which is based on Android 15. The company promises features powered by artificial intelligence, including the Ella AI assistant, Circle for search, and an AI writing assistant.
