Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav has informed his party members that he will address the ongoing issues within his family, which includes the conflict between his son, Tejashwi Yadav, and daughter, Rohini Acharya, after the party faced a significant defeat in the recent Bihar assembly elections, according to sources. Lalu made these comments, the first since the surprising family situation became public on Saturday, during a gathering of the newly elected RJD MLAs on Monday. "This is a matter for the family to handle and will be sorted out internally. I will manage it," Lalu stated during a meeting in Patna, sources reported. At the meeting, which included senior RJD figures like Lalu's wife Rabri Devi, eldest daughter Misa Bharti, and Jagdanand Singh, Tejashwi was appointed as the leader of the legislative party. Lalu also commended Tejashwi for his hard work in the Bihar elections, where the RJD secured just 25 out of 243 seats, marking its second-worst electoral performance since 2010. He expressed confidence that Tejashwi would move the party forward, as per sources.

Tejashwi Yadav allegedly had a fierce argument with Rohini Acharya on Saturday, just after the Bihar assembly election results were released. During their dispute at their home in Patna, Tejashwi, who was the main candidate for the Opposition, accused Rohini of being responsible for their defeat. "We lost the election because of you. It’s because of you that we are suffering," he reportedly told his sister. In a fit of anger, he threw a slipper at her and used bad language, sources indicated. Following this incident, Rohini Acharya, one of Lalu Yadav's nine children, announced on Saturday afternoon that she was distancing herself from her family and withdrawing from politics. In a message on X, she claimed that senior RJD leader Sanjay Yadav, a close associate of Tejashwi, and Rameez Nemat Khan, a longtime friend of Tejashwi, urged her to take this step. Acharya, who ran for a seat in Saran during last year's Lok Sabha elections but did not win, also mentioned that she was "accepting all the blame," without clarifying if she meant the Bihar election defeat or something else entirely.

When asked by journalists about her social media post later, she mentioned that those who challenge Tejashwi's supporters are kicked out of the house. "I no longer have family. Go speak with Sanjay, Rameez, and Tejashwi Yadav. They have excluded me from the family because they refuse to take any accountability. Those who wish to be clever will be the ones facing inquiries. When an activist questions a clever individual, the public wonders how the party reached this point in the Bihar elections," she stated.

"When you mention Sanjay and Rameez, you get expelled from the house, your reputation is tarnished, and you are even attacked with shoes," she claimed. In a new update on Sunday morning, she expressed feeling "humiliated" the day before. "A daughter, a sister, a wife, and a mother faced humiliation yesterday; she was insulted with filthy language, and shoes were aimed at her. I did not compromise my dignity, I did not abandon the truth, and because of this, I had to face this disrespect," she wrote in Hindi. She explained that a daughter had to leave her "crying parents and sisters out of necessity.""They took away my family home... They left me alone... I hope none of you ever experience what I went through; I wish no family ever has a daughter or sister like Rohini," she added.

In another post, she mentioned being "insulted" and labeled as "filthy," and that her kidney, which she donated to Lalu Yadav in 2022, was also called "filthy.""Yesterday, I was insulted and told I was dirty, and that I paid a lot of money to get my dirty kidney transplanted into my father... To all married daughters and sisters, I advise that when there is a son or brother in your maternal family, do not ever save your beloved father; tell your brother, the son of that family, to find a kidney for himself or one from his friends in Haryana," she wrote. "Every daughter and sister should focus on their own homes and families, care for their children and in-laws without worrying about their own parents, and prioritize themselves... It became a great sin for me that I did not care for my family, my three kids, and did not seek permission from my husband or in-laws before donating my kidney," she added.

She explained that she gave the kidney to protect "my beloved father.""May none of you ever make a mistake like I did; may no family ever have a daughter like Rohini," she said. Reports suggest that Acharya was dissatisfied with her elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, being removed from the party due to "irresponsible actions." Yet, as the assembly elections approached, she was seen supporting Tejashwi in her campaign efforts. Three of Lalu's other daughters - Rajlakshmi, Ragini, and Chanda - have also reportedly moved out from the family's home on Circular Road in Patna.
