Pakistan's former prime minister Imran Khan was arrested in a dramatic way on Tuesday in a corruption case. Imran Khan traveled to Islamabad High Court from Lahore and Pakistani paramilitary rangers arrested him after beating his security staff and lawyer.

Once the news of Imran Khan's arrest was out, there were huge protests in several cities. Protestors burnt police vehicles and damaged public property. Khan’s supporters smashed the army’s headquarters main gate in Rawalpindi. Lahore is completely under the hands of protestors as they blocked all the exit and entry gates for the city. Media also reported that two people were shot dead when they were protesting outside the ISI headquarters. Protesters requested the government not to torcher Khan.

Imran Khan projected himself as the victim and he claims that he was ousted from the prime minister's post because of American conspiracy and his independent foreign policy decisions. He even claims that America has sent him threatening messages through Ambassador. There was an attack on him in November while he was at a public rally. Pakistan's governance is always in the hands of the military and Khan has opposed the army chief's choice of leading spy agency. Later slowly Khan was ousted from the Parliament and his allies with the Tehreek-e-Insaf party dissolved its allies. Khan was demanding elections but was being delayed.

Punjab Government to bring law and order in control brought in Rangers and imposed Section 144. Pakistan Government also asked the telecom operations to disconnect the internet services.
