Hazardous storm to Hit North Carolina

A hazardous storm that had killed around 15 people and injured dozens of others is now moving towards North Carolina.

Meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Raleigh stated a low pressure system in the deep south is building, strengthen as it moves into the western part of the state today.

Reportedly the storm had killed 11 people in Georgia and four others in Mississippi.

According to a statement from forecasters, Guilford County has a slight chance of showers early this afternoon and there is a possibility of thunderstorms after 4 p.m. and winds could reach to the speed of 24 mph.

Meteorologists said on 29 January (Sunday) that southern Georgia, northern Florida and the corner of southeastern Alabama could face forceful tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail. Long track tornadoes, which plow on for miles, were also a risk.

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal declared a state of emergency on 29 January (Sunday) in seven counties, including Brooks, Cook and Berrien counties where the fatalities occurred.
