The Oppo Reno 16 series seems to be getting ready for its introduction. Recently, both the Indian and global versions of the standard Reno 16 have been seen on a benchmarking website, suggesting that it will be released in these areas soon. Now, the supposed global edition of the Reno 16 Pro has also shown up on the same benchmarking site. This listing provides important information about the phone, such as its processor, memory setup, and operating system. An unconfirmed Oppo phone with the model number CPH2863 has been seen on Geekbench. Although the listing does not state the name of this device, prior certification records have connected this model number to the global version of the Oppo Reno 16 Pro. The benchmarking site indicates that the phone uses MediaTek’s MT6899 chipset. This chipset features an octa-core design with ARMv8 architecture and operates at a base clock speed of 2.20GHz. The architecture of the SoC is said to include one core running at 3.40GHz, three cores at 3.20GHz, and four cores functioning at the base frequency of 2.20GHz.
Nevertheless, some reports propose that it might actually be the Dimensity 8550 instead, which has a similar design. The Chinese version of the Reno 16 Pro, released earlier this year, is equipped with the same mobile processor. It is expected that the global version of the Oppo Reno 16 Pro will have around 11.18GB of RAM, which will likely be marketed as 12GB, along with a Mali-G720 MC8 graphics processor. The phone is shown to operate on Android 16 and will probably come with ColorOS 16 on top of it. Benchmark results for the Oppo phone give us an insight into its performance capabilities. In the Geekbench 6.7.1 test for Android AArch64, it achieved scores of 1,575 in single-core performance and 5,889 in multi-core performance. In comparison, the regular Reno 16 featuring the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor scored 1,240 in single-core and 3,994 in multi-core.
As per earlier reports, the Oppo Reno 16 series is likely to launch in India on July 2. We can anticipate additional information becoming available as the launch date of the phones approaches.
