Reports from US media suggest that President Donald Trump is contemplating participation in Israel's current military operations targeting Iranian nuclear sites. This information emerged following a lengthy meeting Trump had with his national security team in the White House Situation Room that lasted for one hour and twenty minutes, during which they assessed various strategies in response to the escalating tensions between Israel and Iran. According to sources informed on the issue, including officials from the intelligence community and the Department of Defence, Trump is considering joining Israel's sustained military campaign against Iranian nuclear installations.

Axios has reported statements from two Israeli officials indicating that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and members of the Israeli defense establishment believe Trump is likely to engage in the conflict shortly, possibly by bombing Iran's underground enrichment facilities. Speculations surrounding increased US military involvement have been heightened by Trump's sudden exit from the G7 Summit and a series of threatening posts on social media. His recent call for Iran's "unconditional surrender" has amplified discussions regarding possible American military actions. In various social media updates, Trump boasted that the United States possesses complete control over Iranian airspace, asserting that Iran's defense systems, including sophisticated tracking technology, cannot compete with American military capabilities. He praised the superiority of US defense systems in a post on Truth Social.

On Truth Social, Trump stated, "Iran possesses decent sky tracking systems and adequate defensive measures, but they fall short compared to American-made, designed, and produced equipment. No one excels quite like the United States." In another provocative comment, he mentioned that US intelligence is aware of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's location, declaring, "We know precisely where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding. He is a straightforward target but remains safe there — We are not going to eliminate him (kill him!), at least for the moment," he said.

Trump further warned Iran, expressing, "We do not want missiles aimed at civilians or American forces. Our tolerance is diminishing." In a subsequent post, he emphatically stated in capital letters: "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!" These statements come amidst an escalation of conflict in the Middle East, with increasing violence resulting in over 200 fatalities in Iran, primarily among civilians, along with at least 24 Israeli lives lost. The hostilities have now entered their fifth day, characterized by a series of missile and drone exchanges.

The New York Times reported that Iran is preparing missiles and military assets to target US bases in the Middle East should America ally with Israel in the ongoing conflict. Earlier, US Vice President JD Vance also suggested that Trump might utilize the US military to advance national interests. "He may determine that further action is necessary to halt Iranian enrichment. Ultimately, that decision rests with the president," he remarked on X.
