OnePlus 15 was introduced in India on Thursday as the latest flagship phone from the Chinese company. This new model takes the place of the OnePlus 13. Its launch in India happens a few weeks after it was revealed in China with similar features. The OnePlus 15 is the first smartphone in India to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. It has a 6.78-inch QHD+ screen with a refresh rate that goes up to 165Hz. The phone includes a 7,300mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports fast charging both through cables and wirelessly. The OnePlus 15 has a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main lens, which allows users to record videos in up to 8K resolution. It will be sold in India through Amazon and the OnePlus online store. The price for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is set at Rs. 72,999. The top model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage is available for Rs. 79,999. However, buyers can get a discount of Rs. 4,000 with an HDFC Bank deal, lowering the effective price of the base version to Rs. 68,999.

The launch of the flagship phone will happen today in India at 8pm IST. It will be accessible through Amazon and the company's website. The OnePlus 15 will come in three colors: Infinite Black, Sand Storm, and Ultra Violet. This phone supports dual-SIM cards and runs on Android 16 with OxygenOS 16. It features a 6.78-inch QHD+ AMOLED display (1,272x2,772 pixels) with a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz, a minimum refresh rate of 1Hz, a 20:9 aspect ratio, a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, and a pixel density of 450 ppi. The display includes Sun Display technology for better visibility in direct sunlight. Additionally, it offers Eye Comfort for Gaming, Motion Cues, Eye Comfort Reminders, and Reduce White Point features. The phone has bezels that are 1.15 mm thick.

The OnePlus 15 is driven by Qualcomm's advanced 3nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This SoC is combined with an Adreno 840 GPU, a G2 Wi-Fi chip, and a Touch Response chip, achieving a maximum clock speed of 4.608GHz. It can be equipped with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X Ultra+ RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. To manage heat, the OnePlus 15 incorporates a 5,731 sq mm 3D vapor chamber as part of its 360 Cryo-Velocity Cooling system. It includes various AI features such as Plus Mind, Google's Gemini AI, AI Recorder, AI Portrait Glow, AI Scan, and AI PlayLab.

In terms of cameras, the OnePlus 15 has a triple rear camera arrangement, powered by the company's DetailMax Image Engine. It features a primary camera with 50 megapixels (f/1.8) Sony IMX906 sensor and a 24mm focal length, with autofocus and an 84-degree field of view. In addition, the phone includes a 50-megapixel (f/2.8) Samsung JN5 telephoto camera that provides 3.5x optical zoom and 7x optical quality zoom, featuring an 80mm focal length, 30-degree field of view, and autofocus. In conclusion, the OnePlus 15 boasts a 50-megapixel (f/2.0) OV50D ultrawide camera that has a 116-degree field of view, features autofocus, and has a 16mm focal length.

On the front side, the OnePlus 15 comes with a 32-megapixel (f/2.4) Sony IMX709 camera for selfies that has a 21mm focal length. The cameras at the back of the new OnePlus phone can record videos in 8K resolution at 30 frames per second and 4K resolution at up to 120 frames per second. At the same time, the front camera can capture 4K videos at up to 60 frames per second. The phone includes a range of sensors such as a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, color temperature sensor, e-compass, accelerometer, gyroscope, hall sensor, laser focusing sensor, spectral sensor, barometer, and an IR blaster. The OnePlus 15 also enables connectivity with support for 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and NavIC. For security purposes, the device features an in-display ultrasound fingerprint sensor. It is said to be rated at IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K for both dust and water protection.

It is powered by a 7,300mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports speedy charging with 120W SuperVOOC wired and 50W AirVOOC wireless charging. The company claims the battery can reach a full charge from zero in roughly 39 minutes. The colors Infinite Black and Ultra Violet have dimensions of 161.4x76.7x82mm and weigh around 215g. However, the Sand Storm variant is slightly slimmer and lighter, with a thickness of 81mm and a weight of about 211g.
