The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, believed to be the successor to last year's Galaxy Z Fold 6, is anticipated to be released in the coming months, with new details about the smartphone having surfaced online once again. This book-style foldable device is likely to launch with Android 16 pre-installed, layered with Samsung's One UI 8 user interface. Similar to the Galaxy S25 series introduced in January, there are expectations that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. Information regarding this upcoming device was shared by X (previously Twitter) user Anthony (@TheGalox_), who asserts that the smartphone will include a new primary camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels, a significant upgrade from the 50-megapixel camera found in the current Galaxy Z Fold 6 model. Additionally, it is rumored to have an enhanced under-display camera.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may come with an 8-inch internal display and a 6.5-inch external screen, increasing from the 7.6-inch and 6.3-inch sizes of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. According to the source, this upcoming model will feature a more robust display, incorporating "new layers" and presenting a reduced crease on the inner screen. When fully opened, it is said that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will measure 4.5mm in thickness, making it approximately 1.1mm thinner than its predecessor. The leak also suggests that the device will include enhanced resistance to dust and water, with the current Galaxy Z Fold 6 holding an IP48 rating.
The forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 will feature the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip found in the Galaxy S25 series, along with a more spacious vapor chamber to improve thermal regulation. Additionally, the device is expected to come with upgraded speakers and a new vibration motor. With Google's initiative to roll out Android 16 by the second quarter of 2025, compatible Google Pixel smartphones are likely to receive the update by June. As the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is projected to launch in July, it’s believed that it will debut with One UI 8, which utilizes Android 16.
