The cyclone effect is showing depression signs over the Bay of Bengal since Monday. Depression is predicted to turn into severe cyclonic storm. Tamil Nadu CM urged people to stay indoors for safety.

The weather department IMD, cautioned that Nivar cyclone may hit Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts tomorrow evening. It is said cyclonic storm comes with a wind speed that varies from 100-110 kmph which can reach to 120 kmph.

Rescue Plans To Face The Cyclone

The weather forecast sees the probability of storm crossing Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallampuram on 25th November. The following day forecast shows the rains in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry. The state governments are arranging the rescue and relief plans in advance.The NDRF is on the duty with 30 teams in various places of prediction for cyclone Nivar.

Tamil Nadu Disaster Response Force (TNDRF) trained both the police personnel and home guard personnel to protect the state from disaster. Also now, the state has 60 armed police personnel who are trained to use rescue gadgets in the vulnerable places.

Greater Chennai Corporation is ready to 15 relief centers in the city. The zonal officials were assigned to arrange the relief centers by Monday night.

The Public Works Department (PWD) placed the sandbags and casurina poles in the areas of risk. The department is already checking on reservoirs, huge tanks and lakes in the state. This is to avoid the potent risk due to heavy rains during or after the storm.

Buses Suspended in 11 Tamil Nadu Districts From Noon

Tamil Nadu CM, Edappadi Karuppa Palaniswami requested people to stay indoors. He also called for suspension of bus services from Monday 1 PM. As Met Department cautioned the hazard of cyclone, fishermen must avoid going to the sea until the weather condition becomes normal.
